OK NOW YOU’RE OUT OF SCHOOL, TIME FOR BASEBALL CAMP!
Parents, use this summer to get your kids out of the house, away from homework and video games and get your players on the field, improving their skills, speed and awareness!
Baseball camp is also a great supplement for those that are playing in summer leagues as well. While summer leagues play 1-2 games per week, the immersion in baseball camp for 1-2 weeks or more throughout the summer ensures the player grows in skill and awareness.
WHY I FEEL BASEBALL CAMP IS SO BLOODY IMPORTANT.
Baseball camp gives players 20-30 hours of on field play with professional instructors per week!
When I say “on field play” this is not like your run-of-the-mill baseball camps. We operate our camps in team formats and instruction or drills are given to players in game settings, rather than rotating around individual stations for most of the day.
Drills are timed with no drill taking longer than 12 seconds to achieve. It is important that players be taught the speed of the game along with proper foot and glove work. Repetitive drills help
This game must be taught as it is played. Players learn through trial and error, but also through viewing situations and processing the different versions of how those situations play out. It’s virtually impossible for players to learn situational baseball from merely talking about it at camp and going through motions. Situations and pressure must be crafted. Players must understand the feel of pressure and made to train against that feeling daily in order to compete at a high level.
Our baseball camp continuously creates high pressure, speed situations for our campers. Even our youngest campers play games that involve having to throw the ball to a target or each other in the fastest time possible. Training for the speed, not just the skill of the game, helps create better players faster.
“Ruben’s philosophy in coaching our travel team has really brought our team to a higher level in performance. He and his coaching staff constantly schedule games against better teams to improve our kid’s abilities to perform under pressure against more dominant competition. And because of this, each individual player on the team has improved exponentially, especially in terms of awareness on the field.”
It’s this philosophy that I bring to these camps. Our instructors play games with our players, not just herd them in groups to the next drill. Come out to a camp and see for yourself how and why Lifeletics camps have been building players for over 15 years!
